About AVW Antiques

Having served the trade for over 30 years (from working at Sotheby’s to picture framing, and a good, long stint for a well known dealer on Pimlico Rd, London SW6) Alexander also ran his own business from a shop on Londons famous Lillie Rd for over a decade. Nowadays AVW Antiques operates from his home in Hertfordshire and several nearby barns which house all the current stock and can be visited any time of day or night (albeit by appointment only!)

Apart from an obvious leaning towards good quality, clean and simple Taxidermy (usually Victorian and Edwardian cases), light oak and late 19thC furniture of simple form is most evident, complimented by ornithological and sporting books and prints and unusual decorative objects, many with a leaning toward Natural History.
