A Pair of Leather Bookends
A pair of beautifully stiched leather bookends with bull's hooves mounts; the brass rings bearing the monogram of the Miura Ganadaria - breeders of Spanish bulls in Seville. This breed is highly regarded for its strength and stamina.
A "Miura" bull, named Islero, famously killed Manolete, one of Spain's most well known and respected matadors, in 1947.
Whether these are the trophies of a famous bull or just a decorative item owned by the family is still unknown.
